Water Filter Installation Project in the Rural Communities of Puerto Plata!

We are pleased to inaugurate our water filter project in the rural communities of Puerto Plata!

In recent months, we have been working hard to provide sustainable solutions to the lack of access to clean water in rural areas of our province. Although some efforts have been made to ensure water potability, poorly structured initiatives without adequate standards have led to a high incidence of diseases related to the consumption of contaminated water, such as diarrhea, amoebiasis, fluorosis, among others.

After extensive studies conducted in collaboration with local laboratories and international organizations, we have efficiently begun the installation of 3 of the 30 ceramic and bio-sand filters planned for rural communities in the Province of Puerto Plata. These water filters effectively eliminate pathogens and contaminants, resulting in a purification rate of up to 98.5%.

As part of the water filter installation, health promoters will conduct recurring talks on the importance of sanitation and clean water, proper water storage, and adopting measures to minimize the spread of diseases related to the use of contaminated water.

By 2024, a total of 30 filters will be installed, positively impacting 180 families.
