
Johanny Pérez Santos, born and raised in San Felipe de Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, is a dedicated psychologist and seasoned professional in program management. She earned her Psychology degree from the Technological University of Santiago (UTESA), Puerto Plata Campus, and has since built a multifaceted career focused on improving the well-being of vulnerable populations.
With a strong commitment to social impact, Johanny has served in various capacities that reflect her dedication to community health. At the Center for Promotion and Human Solidarity (CEPROSH), she provided psychological support to individuals living with HIV, and at the Ministry of Women, she focused on empowering women in her hometown. Additionally, her expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation at Grupo Clara helped her refine her skills in program oversight and effectiveness.
Currently, Johanny holds dual roles as both a facilitator for INFOTEP and the Director of Programs at Health Horizons International, an NGO committed to serving individuals with chronic non-communicable diseases and advancing community health initiatives. Her leadership in these roles exemplifies her drive to create lasting change through compassionate care and strategic program development.
Johanny’s professional development has been marked by ongoing education and specialization in critical social issues. She has completed diplomas and workshops in areas such as Gender Violence, Human Trafficking, Leadership and Management, Human and Couple Sexuality, and Therapeutic Interventions for people living with HIV. She is also trained in Complex Trauma, Resilience, and Community Mediation, continually broadening her expertise to better serve her community.
Motivated by a deep passion for helping others, Johanny’s work at HHI stems from her desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves. Guided by her life philosophy, “The only thing that falls from the sky is rain; everything else requires effort,” she continues to fight for what she believes in, working tirelessly to improve the health and well-being of her community.
