Born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, Licda. Erbania Rivas Cabrera is a seasoned professional with a degree in Public Accounting. Her career began as a secretary at the College of Authorized Public Accountants (CODOCON) in Puerto Plata, where she remains an active and dedicated member to this day. Building on her early experiences, she expanded her career into the commercial sector, working with various establishments in Puerto Plata. Throughout her career, Erbania has enhanced her expertise through numerous courses and diplomas, further solidifying her skills in the field.

On October 16, 2019, Erbania joined the Health Horizons International as the Director of Finance and Operations, where she took on the responsibility of managing all financial transactions with precision and in alignment with the organization’s policies and procedures. Early in her tenure, she played an integral role in projects such as the HIV System and Services Strengthening Project (HS3) and initiatives with the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF), as well as other impactful programs and activities carried out by the institution.

One of her significant contributions to HHI was the implementation of its first comprehensive and efficient financial system, which has been pivotal in ensuring the transparency and integrity of the organization’s finances. This system, under her leadership, has been rigorously audited by external auditors in 2020, 2021, and 2022, all resulting in favorable opinions for the institution.

Erbania finds great motivation in the professional and personal growth opportunities offered by HHI, particularly through its training programs and projects that support vulnerable communities in the municipality. Her passion for serving others and her commitment to the organization’s mission continue to inspire her dedication to HHI’s work.
