What is a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a philanthropic giving vehicle, similar to a charitable savings account. It provides an immediate tax benefit to you and allows you to easily support HHI and other charities of your choice over time. Generally, you can invest cash, appreciated securities, and other assets that HHI may not be able to accept as a direct gift.
How Do Donor-Advised Funds Work?
DAFs can be easily set up through your financial institution or a community foundation to serve as a flexible charitable giving vehicle. For more information on how to establish a DAF, contact your community foundation or financial advisor.
Why Are Donor-Advised Funds Used?
- Quickly activate your charitable giving to address urgent needs and emergencies.
- Transform your portfolio into a meaningful contribution that supports our mission to deliver community-centered healthcare.
- Avoid capital gains taxes on donated stock, maximizing the impact of your gifts.
- Simplify your charitable contributions with recurring grants, helping us maintain readiness for future needs.
Note: Individual situations vary. Donors should consult their advisors.
