Born in the Dominican Republic and now a naturalized U.S. citizen, Ana completed her Master of Science degree in 2015 and earned a Doctor of Health Sciences with a concentration in Global Health from A.T. She retired from her internal medicine/primary care practice in May 2024 after 18 years of service but continues to contribute to healthcare through per diem work, which allows her to engage with various practices and connect with new people.
Ana is deeply committed to community service and improving access to healthcare. She currently works at the Bridgeport Hospital Gynecology Clinic, where she focuses on increasing cervical cancer screenings. She also volunteers at the Yale Haven Free Clinic, where she precepts medical, physician associate, and nurse practitioner students who provide primary care to the New Haven area population. Additionally, she lends her expertise at the Malta House of Care in Hartford, offering primary care services to underinsured adults.
Since 2021, Ana has been involved with Health Horizons International, providing care to patients in the Dominican Republic. Bilingual in Spanish and English, Ana effectively connects with diverse patient populations. Beyond her professional life, she enjoys a variety of hobbies, including tennis, yoga, biking, cooking, baking, archery, reading, and gardening. She is also learning German in preparation for her upcoming trip to Berlin, where she plans to support runners in the Berlin Marathon.
