
Medical Service Trip Volunteers
Volunteers enable HHI’s primary health care field clinics to provide continuity of care in impoverished communities of the Dominican Republic. Volunteers join an international team of clinicians, pharmacists, medical interpreters, students, community health workers, and public health educators for a challenging, rewarding, and memorable week of service. We are now recruiting for the following MST volunteer positions, and invite you to click on the links provided to learn more and apply:
- Clinicians: Physicians, Nurse practitioners, Physicians assistants, Registered nurses, other qualified medical professionals

Patient Care Management Volunteers
Patient Care Management Volunteers provide one-on-one support and advocacy to adults and children who are receiving needed medical care through HHI in the Dominican Republic. Volunteers manage a total caseload of approximately 50 patients who are referred by HHI’s physicians to receive specialist consultations, surgeries, diagnostic testing and imaging, and other health care services. The position provides a rewarding opportunity for students and professionals in the fields of social work, health care, and education to work directly with patients in impoverished communities. Volunteers commit to a two-week term, or may combine their Patient Care Management experience with a medical service trip for a three-week volunteer opportunity.
