Water filter installation project in the rural communities of Puerto Plata!

We are pleased to inaugurate our water filter project in the rural communities of Puerto Plata!

In the past months, we have been working hard to provide sustainable solutions to the lack of access to clean water in communities located in the rural areas of our province. Despite the fact that vague efforts have been made to guarantee the potability of water, poorly structured initiatives and without the adequate standards propelled a high incidence of diseases related to the consumption of contaminated water such as diarrhea, amoebiasis, fluorosis, among others.

After extensive studies carried out in collaboration with local laboratories and international organizations, we efficiently began the installation of 3 of the 30 ceramic and bio-sand filters to be installed in rural communities in the Province of Puerto Plata. Thanks to the water filters, we achieve the elimination of pathogens and contaminants resulting in a purification of up to 98.5%.

As part of the installation of the water filter, the health promoters will hold recurring talks on the importance of sanitation and clean water, water storage, and the adoption of measures that minimize the spread of diseases related to the use of contaminated water.

By 2024, 30 filters will be installed, impacting a number of 180 families.
